This Privacy Policy explains what information ackdelay ("we", "us", "ackdelay.com") collects, how we use and protect it, and the choices you have. We've tried to keep it plain. The short version: we collect only what's needed to run the service, we don't sell your data, and we don't use advertising trackers.
1. Information we collect
Information you give us
- Account information. When you register, we store your email address and a securely hashed version of your password (we never store your password in plain text). You may optionally add profile details such as a display name, username, avatar image, and bio.
- Content you create. Your dashboard configuration (links, layout, widgets, settings), notes and any images you upload to them, and the monitors you configure. This content is private to your account.
- Integration settings. If you connect optional integrations (for example, a Slack workspace URL or Jira site URL), we store those settings so the related features work.
Information collected automatically
- Authentication cookie. When you sign in, we set a single secure, HTTP-only cookie to keep you logged in. It is strictly necessary for the service and is not used for advertising or cross-site tracking.
- Analytics. We use privacy-friendly, cookieless analytics to understand aggregate usage (page views, general traffic patterns). It does not build advertising profiles or track you across other websites.
- Server logs. Like most web services, our servers may record standard technical information (such as IP address and request metadata) for security and reliability.
Information from tools you use
Some tools query third-party services to give you results. When you use them, the relevant input is sent to those providers under their own privacy policies — for example: looking up "What's My IP" or weather uses IP-geolocation and weather services; DNS Lookup uses public DNS-over-HTTPS resolvers; MAC Lookup sends only the vendor prefix (OUI) to a vendor database; and Monitoring checks contact the public hosts you specify. These lookups generally run from your browser or are initiated at your request.
2. How we use your information
- To provide, maintain, and secure the service and your account.
- To save and sync your settings, content, and monitors across your sessions and devices.
- To run the checks and lookups you request.
- To understand aggregate usage and improve the product.
- To communicate with you about your account or important service changes, if needed.
3. What we do not do
- We do not sell or rent your personal information.
- We do not serve third-party advertising or use ad/tracking cookies.
- We do not read your notes for profiling or share your private content with third parties, except as required to operate the service or comply with the law.
4. How your data is stored and protected
Your data is stored in our own database. Passwords are hashed, the site is served over HTTPS, and access to your private content requires authentication. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your information.
5. Data retention
We keep your account and content for as long as your account is active. Monitoring check history may be pruned over time. When you delete your account, we delete your associated data — including your dashboard, notes, uploaded images, and monitors — from our active systems.
6. Your rights and choices
- Access & update. You can view and edit your profile and content from within the app.
- Export. You can export your dashboard configuration from Settings.
- Deletion. You can delete your account, which removes your associated data. Contact us if you need help.
- Analytics. Because our analytics are cookieless and aggregate, there's nothing to opt out of at the personal level; you may also use browser privacy settings.

7. Children
ackdelay is intended for professionals and general audiences and is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect data from children.
8. International users
We operate from [your country/region]. If you access ackdelay from elsewhere, your information may be processed where our servers are located.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We'll revise the "Last updated" date above and, for significant changes, take reasonable steps to notify you.
